Section I: Purpose

The purpose of Clan Universe’s Code of Conduct (CUCOC) is to promote a fair gameplay experience to all participants in Warface. The need for such code is due to the profound use of hacks that are being used in Warface. All members of the clan must adhere to the principles listed in this code. If the code is being followed and enforced properly, the user experience will be enhanced and detrimental aspects of gameplay will be reduced.

Section II: Necessity

The Code of Conduct fills the gaps in the user experience left by Crytek, the developers of Warface. As of the writing of this code, the game does not have an effective anti-hack detection, analysis, player prestige system or any other system designed to protect legitimate players’ gaming experience. As a result, a significant portion of the player population engages in various types of hacks, including:

  • No recoil – weapons do not move their sights up or sideaways after a shot

  • No sway – weapons also aim at a specific point

  • No spread – bullets always hit a specific point

  • Aimbot – can target head, neck, body and is highly configurable to make it virtually undetectable

  • Wall hacks – can penetrate through any obstacle in game

  • ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) – enemy locations, barrel indications, marker aids to help with situational awareness

  • Warnings – proximity alert of nearby players and when other are aiming at you

Such hacks are often updated within hours of a new patch and are not detected by the game client. This code will ensure the integrity of Clan Universe members and attempt to protect their gaming experience by regulating hacks within the clan.

Article I:  Hacking Regulation

Clan Universe’s initial stance on hacking was extremely strict, where hacks were completely disallowed. However, this was not effective and this code is an attempt to alleviate those issues. Members were still using hacks and pretending that was not the case. Too much time and energy was wasted on ultimately futile attempts to enforce a 100% no hack policy. It became a problem enough to warrant such a code to be written down and enforced.

CUCOC is divided into two main parts, Article II: PvP Hacks and Article III: PvE Hacks. It addresses the fact that it is currently not possible to ban and prevent hacks completely, but one must reach a compromise and co-exist with with members who sometimes choose to hack and sometimes not.

Article II: PvP Hacks (Versus)

Clan Universe is completely against any use of hacks in PvP, no matter how minor. If you are a member who disregards these rules and hacks in PvP, you will be given only one warning not to do it again. If you are a repeat offender, you will be removed from the clan. Prove of hacking will need to be presented in the form of personal observation, picture of video evidence which shows a hack with a probability of at least 70%. You may appeal the decision if you feel that you have been unjustifiably branded as a hacker, but you will be asked to provide specific proof if you want your case to be taken seriously.

Please see Section III: Reporting Hackers if you wish to report a Clan Universe member who is suspected of hacking.

Article III. PvE Hacks (Co-op)

PvE hacks are strictly regulated in Clan Universe. Ideally, no hacks of any type would be used. However, this is an unrealistic scenario, since the game developers, which have superior funding, tools and manpower to tackle hacks have not dealt with them themselves. Therefore, it is unfeasible and frankly impossible for the community to prevent all hacks from being utilized in Warface.

The only logical solution is to implement a code where hacks are permitted but discouraged, but only in very specific circumstances and only if all members of the group are in agreement in their use. In other words, hacks will be regulated via a Code of Conduct, and appropriate measures will be taken against Clan Universe members who continuously and deliberately break the rules described within CUCOC.

No claims shell be made that the gameplay is legit if any hacks were used. Members will not claim that their skill/mouse/experience is what made them achieve suspicious results, if they are using hacks. For a list of hacks, please see Section II: Necessity above. If a member is asked to disable their hacks for a specific mission, they must to do so. If they are suspected of hacking and attempt to hide that they are using hacks, they will be given a warning. Each member will be permitted up to 3 warnings. If they continue to use hacks after the 3rd warning is given, they will be removed from the clan.

Please see Section III: Reporting Hackers if you wish to report a Clan Universe member who is suspected of hacking.

Article IV: Appeals

A player accused of hacking will have the right to appeal the decision, assuming they provide the proper evidence in their defense. A group of officers will vote on how serious the accusations are and consider if the probability of hacking is low enough to warrant repeal. All evidence will be thoroughly examined and considered. Most importantly, a player is innocent until evidence is provided to prove his guilt.

Section III: Reporting Suspected Hackers

Please contact Flakker, templario or Viniterra within Warface if you suspect one of the Clan Universe members was hacking in PvP. Clan Universe allows the use of hacks under very regulatory circumstances in PvE and such issues are dealt with internally based on the Code of Conduct described above. No need for reporting hacking in PvE is required. However, if you feel that there was an excessive use of hacks in PvE by a Clan Universe member, please feel free to report them to any of the Clan Universe officers listed above.
