Weapons

  1. Pistol - Even the most basic ones have great range and accuracy.

  2. Melee - Your knife or other melee weapon is also a great up close.

  3. Defibrillator - Can also be used as a weapon on any ground troops. Defib's deal massive amounts of damage to Heavy Gunners also: you can wait until he begins to reloads, run up to it and shock. It will work regardless of whether you attack from the back or front, but it will deliver a lot more damage if you apply shock directly to his power pack.

  4. Shotgun - They can easily dispose of enemies within a few meters. Keep in mind some shotguns are slow firing and very slow to reload so try to keep the weapon fully loaded. On the other hand remember that most shotguns reload one slug at a time and can be fired even in the middle of reloading! Use this to your advantage!

Recognize the Lost Cause

One thing you have to remember as a medic is that you can’t save everyone. You won’t help anyone by dying yourself, so learn to recognize lost causes, don't try to revive a teammate that dies in the open in a spot covered by two enemy snipers and a machine gun emplacement. Leave him; you will serve your squad better by healing those who know how to use cover.

Be Prepared to Focus on Healing

Medics primary role at all times is to keep the squad alive and healthy, but it's twice as true on defensive and safari missions. You may go thru the whole mission without killing a single enemy. However the end result can be that all your teammates survive to the end. Most missions without a competent medic such as Skilled or Hardcore inevitably fail.

When can you revive?

Only after your defib tool has recharged back to 100%. You don't need to be full health to revive your teammate. I have revived many a teammate when I only had a sliver of heath left and full recharge.

Who do you heal first?

Makes no sense whatsoever to heal another medic. Always seek out your offensive players low on health and keep them healed first. Press Tab (default key) to see the health of all teammembets, so that you can decide who needs urgent medical attention!

Who should you revive first?

Any fallen teammate has to the count of 10 to be revived. You should always revive any fallen medic as he can immediately after being revived go and revive the next fallen teammate. This way you have a minimum of 3 teammates alive. If you are being revived DO NOT HEAL yourself right away, by doing so only lengthens the time you can revive others as healing yourself drops your recharge from 100%. Revive your fallen teammates first.

When can you heal yourself?

Preferably once the heat of battle has cooled down or heal in increments, not all at once.

How to Heal

  • Use the second mouse button (default key) to heal yourself. Left mouse button (default key) heals your teammates within a certain range.

  • Get to know the distance your Health Pack will function when healing so you can stay out of harms way and your teammates.

  • Press Tab to view the health of your teammates. This comes in very handy, as you can quickly tell who needs medical attention the most.

  • Most times you will have to heal on the run. When healing your teammates never stand or crouch next to them this inhibits their ability to move, this only gets both of you killed.

  • Many times you will have to sprint behind teammates and heal them.

When Should I Revive Teammates?

My prefered way to do this is to move back and forth over the body, this creates a moving target for the enemy. Standing, crouched or even prone may get you killed.

Who Can You Kill?

Any enemy on the ground with a defibulator, shotgun, pistol or melee weapon. When facing a Shield wielding enemy, keep your back to the wall and when he gets close you can use the defib on him for a Dr. Doom kill. I like to run up to regular ground forces on the side then circle around them as I deliver the defib kill.

Killing a Heavy Gunner

Your team must kill all ground forces. As a medic I will sprint up to his side and start circling him, while doing so I can shoot, knife or defib him. If my health drops I will switch to the health pack to heal myself. The Gunner will stop to reload then I sieze this opportunity to pull out the PileDriver, crouch and deliver a massive amount of damage to his power pack. If he is not dead I can continue to circle him and use all my weapons to deliver the final blows.

For more information on dealing with the Heavy Gunner, please read templario's guide here.

Killing a Mech 2000

  1. As a medic you can spin the Mech 2000's while your team shoots rockets.

  2. Make sure you are continually healing yourself.

  3. Place yourself into position next to one of his feet and keep circling behind him.

  4. You will need to be running and healing yourself continually.

  5. When he falls pull out your shottie or pistol and shoot the top of his head. Conserve your RPG for taking down the shields and use primary weapon to damage the mech's weakspot at the top, which is exposed once he is knocked down.

There is what I call a "Sweet Spot" when circling the Heavy Gunner or Mech 2000 where you are behind them and take no damage from them. Over time and practice you too will find this spot.

What You Should Not Do

  1. Don't try to revive the fool who dies in open ground, your no good dead as well, pick your spots to do this.

  2. Don't just heal yourself, heal your teammates. To many times I have seen medics only heal themselves and run past others who need heals or need to be revived.

  3. Don't obstruct your teammates movements when healing. I tend to use my teammates as a shield when I heal them (lol).

Medics can heal their teammates and themselves, as they are your best friend on the battlefield. They can heal team members and bring the dead back to life. However, don't be fooled by the in game message which indicates you can revive a whole squad of fallen teammates. You can only revive 1 member at a time. Medics can wreck havoc in close quarters with special-issue shotguns.
